Sunken Memory

In 2022, a friend with a captain’s license took me out on a motorboat off the village of Drapanias in Crete. Just four months earlier, the cargo ship Manassa Rose M got caught in a fierce storm while sailing from Turkey to Libya. Strong crosswinds drove it toward the coast, where towering waves and shallow waters tore it in half. The wreck now rests about 386 meters from shore. Thanks to some smart maneuvering, my friend got me pretty close to the wreck, with the golden light of sunset spilling right behind it. It took me 3 years to get myself to edit those, but finally - they are here.

CZ: V roce 2022 jsem se díky kamarádovi s kapitánským průkazem dostal na motorovej člun u vesnice Drapanias na Krétě. 4 měsíce předtím ztroskotala u jeho břehů nákladní loď Manassa Rose M, která plula z Turecka do Libye, kde jí zaskočil silný boční vítr a bouře. Ta jí zanesla až k břehu, kde jí kombinace vysokých vln a mělčiny rozlomily vejpůl. Vrak se nachází zhruba 386 metrů od břehu. Já se k němu dostal pekelně blízko těsně před západem slunce a nafotil následující fotky. Seděl jsem na nich 3 roky, než jsem je začal editovat.
